Price information for assistance relating to (summary only) motoring offences under Part 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and s89 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Pricing ranges will reflect the number of witnesses (prosecution and defence), complexity, Pre trial, Legal issues and possible number of hearings.

Unless we say otherwise, the price displayed includes:

  • Considering evidence and your instructions
  • Providing advice in relation to plea and likely sentence and advice on the options available to the court in relation to sentencing
  • Where appropriate, advice on whether an exceptional hardship, or special reasons argument should be made
  • Representation at a single hearing

The key stages of your matter are on the basis that you have entered a guilty plea and have a date for your hearing.

  • Meet with your solicitor to provide instructions on what happened
  • We will consider initial disclosure, and any other evidence and provide advice
  • Arranging to take any witness statements if necessary (this may have an additional cost, at the relevant fee earners hourly rate plus VAT per statement)
  • We will explain the court procedure to you so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court
  • We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow up queries you have
  • Where we are awaiting a summons or court date we cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place. We cannot provide a definite time for your hearing on any court date, as this depends on the court listing for that day we may be at court all day.We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going to court.
  • We will discuss the outcome with you. The fee guide above includes preliminary advice in relation to appeal. If more detailed advice if required we will advise on any additional fee.
  • Mileage for court will be based on a rate of 45p per mile plus VAT – Travel  cost is excluded from the above calculation
